Wildomar's incorporation is being questioned by Wildomar resident Gerard Ste.
Marie who has sued LAFCO and the County of Riverside, contending the transfer of
funds from the County to the proposed cities violates the law. He contends it is
a gift of public money. A favorable court ruling could nullify the
incorporation votes recently passed by voters in Wildomar and possibly Menifee
as well.
Ste. Marie has been an active opponent of Wildomar cityhood
efforts having filed suit to stop it on multiple occasions. All of his attempts
thus far have been unsuccessful.
A quote attributed to Ste. Marie in The
Press Enterprise reads, "The
best thing to happen for the community at this time would be for this
incorporation to be invalidated."
Sheryl Ade,
Wildomar councilwoman-elect is also quoted in The Press Enterprise
responding, "I do not believe
this lawsuit will go anywhere. That's the bottom line," she said. "His goal is
to destroy a community. Wow, what a guy."
